The Peoria Historical Society’s Grandview Drive & Springdale Cemetery Tour winds along Grandview Drive taking place every Friday in June beginning at 11 am leaving from the Peoria Riverfront Museum.   Their “Abraham Lincoln and The Civil War Tour” tells the story of Lincoln’s visits to Peoria, the Civil War troops and Camp Peoria & Camp Lyon where they trained. Drive by the GAR Hall, built in 1909, and hear the story of Joseph Greenhut, one of the Whiskey Barons who provided funding for the Hall.
