Shorty’s Strickly Bluegrass Festival begins tonight at 7 pm at the
Stoney Creek Inn. The festival features 5 shows with out-of-state
entertainment and continues Saturday 1 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday at

Hamlet opens tonight at Bradley’s Hartman Center for the Performing
Arts at 8 pm. Shows continue through Saturday with performances at

Leap Day(s) at the Zoo are this Friday & Saturday. 2008 is the
Year of the Frog at zoos across the nation – we take a closer look

The Illinois Central College Student Activities Talent Show is

The Easter Seals Black and Blue Ball is this Friday night in the

The Central Illinois Recreational Show opens Friday and continues
thru Sunday in the Civic Center Exhibit Hall. The event features
RV’s, motorcycles, ATV’s, golf carts, and campground information.
Show hours are 3 – 8 pm Friday, 9 am – 8 pm Saturday, and 11 am – 5
pm Sunday. Tickets are $7 for adults and $2 for kids ages 7-12 and

Comedian J Medicine Hat perform at the Jukebox Comedy Club Friday
and Saturday at 8 pm and 10:30 pm both nights. Tickets are $16 for
all the shows except the Friday, February 29th 10:30 p.m. show,
which is just $10. This show is Rated R.

On Saturday, the Peoria Mustangs play Michigan at Owens Center in
Lakeview Park . The game begins at 7:45 pm.

The Peoria Ballet presents Wings, an evening of dancing fancy, on
Saturday night at 8 pm in the Peoria Civic Center Theatre. Tickets

Also on Saturday, the Central Illinois Youth Symphony hosts its
4th Annual Grow the Music Gala Dinner Dance/Silent Auction at 6 pm
at the Hotel Pere Marquette. Student soloists and ensembles will
entertain while hors d’oeuvres are served and the silent auction
takes place. The event is black-tie optional. Tickets are $75

The 15th Annual PARC’s In Bloom Style Show is presented by the
Pilot Club of Peoria on Saturday beginning at at 11 am. The event

The Official Spring Home Show is this weekend in the Civic Center
Exhibit Hall. Hours are Friday thru Sunday from 4 pm – 9 pm on

available at the door,. Kids under 18 are free.

The YWCA Circle of Women Luncheon takes place at the Peoria Civic
Center beginning at noon. Attendees will hear touching stories
from women whose lives have been changed by the YWCA. There is no

The 20th Annual Central Illinois Boating & Fishing Show will take
place at the East Peoria Event Center Friday and Saturday. There
will be over 50,000 Square Feet of Boats, Fishing Tackle & Resort

10 am – 7 pm and Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm.

The 38th Central IL World Affairs Conference will be held on Friday
and Saturday at the Hotel Pere Marquette. Speakers will address
the theme “Geopolitics of Climate Change: Competition for Limited
Resources” from several different angles with an outstanding
line-up of experts. The member-student program is $40, the
non-member program is $50 (both include Friday night’s dinner &

The Peoria Area Music Teachers Association present their Monster
Concert this Saturday night featuring 13 grand pianos and 250
musicians performing at Riverside Community Church beginning at 5
pm. The multi-piano concert provides students the opportunity to
