The Peoria Chiefs take on the Kane County Cougars at 7 pm tonight
and the South Bend SilverHawks Friday at 7 pm. On Saturday night at
6:30 pm and Sunday at 2:30 pm, the Chiefs will play the South Bend
SilverHawks again. Tickets for all games are $6, $9, & $10 and may

Smoke on the Mountain at the Barn II Theatre opens tonight. Shows
run Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays with doors opening at 6 pm,

The CEFCU Jazz Series continues tonight on the RiverFront. Don’t

will be presented on Saturday night at 8 pm at the Illinois
Shakespeare Festival in Bloomington. Tickets range in price from

Aida opens on Friday at Eastlight Theatre, featuring the music of
legendary artist, Elton John. Performances begin at 7:30 pm except
for the Sunday performance which begins at 2 pm. Tickets are $16

A Chorus Line also opens at Friday at Corn Stock Theatre. It’s a
celebration of those unsung heroes of the American Musical theatre
— the chorus dancers. The show runs through August 9 with

Ambient performs at the Contemporary Art Center ‘s Live at the

The Junior League of Peoria’s JULEP’s Summer Sale is Saturday from
8 am – 2 pm at the Ballance-Herschel House, 256 E. Randolph in
Peoria . The sale will be a smaller scale version of Julep’s Closet
geared towards everything summer. All proceeds go to support the
Junior League of Peoria projects: The Peoria PlayHouse, I Like Me,
and Kids in the Kitchen.

The Greater Illinois BAD Ride (Bikers Against Diabetes) and the
American Diabetes Association (ADA) will host the Annual BAD Ride
this Saturday. Riders are meeting at the Festival of Lights
Building in East Peoria and then riding through Central Illinois to

The 31st Annual St. Jude Telethon will be held on Saturday from
6:30 pm – Midnight in the Peoria Civic Center Exhibit Hall and
broadcast live on WEEK-TV 25. VIP’s representing area companies
and loyal volunteers staff the telephones in both Peoria and
Bloomington to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital. The evening also includes the arrival of more than 1500
runners from St. Jude Runs arriving at the Civic Center at 7 pm
Admission is free.

Find fresh produce locally grown and brought directly from farms
and gardens, local meats, cheeses and breads at the RiverFront
Market on Saturday from 8 am to Noon. There’s also pottery, blown
glass, jewelry, wood turned items, candles, soaps and more all
handcrafted by local artists plus music and food demonstrations.

On the first Sunday of every month from 10 am to 4:30 pm, multiple

The second annual Heart of Illinois Classic Auto and Bike Show, an
Arthritis Foundation Greater Illinois Chapter fundraiser, will be
held from 8 am – 4 pm on the Peoria Riverfront this Sunday. The
show will include 36 award categories, RC car races, NSRA safety
inspections, music, food, door prizes and a silent auction. The
show is free to the public, $15 for pre-registration entry and $20
for day of registration entry. Money raised from the event will
benefit the local Juvenile Rheumatology program and Peoria-based
Juvenile clinic.

The 2nd annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/Midwest
Affiliate Shrimp and Corn Boil will be held from 11 am to 6 pm at
the Itoo Hall (4909 W. Farmington Road) on Sunday. Dixon’s seafood
experts will be preparing large meals for $10 per person featuring
jumbo shrimp, corn-on-the-cob, smoked sausage, baby red potatoes,
frosted brownies, and iced tea. A raffle and 50/50 drawing will
also be held. All net proceeds will be donated to the St. Jude
Midwest Affiliate in Peoria. Tickets are available at the door.

Tonight is the annual Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular at
the Glen Oak Park Amphitheatre. The event kicks off at 4 pm with
Mid-Central Cheer, Community Children’s Theatre and Great
Expectations Show Chorus, followed by more musical entertainment
until 8 pm when the Peoria Municipal Band will perform patriotic

Lincoln: His Life, His Letters, His Legacy premieres Saturday at
the Pettengill-Morron House Museum located on Moss Ave. Tours are
at 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm each Saturday through July. This exhibit
draws the viewer into Lincoln ‘s life – a life that was and is the
ideal of what it means to be an American. Tickets are $5 for

Landing on Peoria’s RiverFront. Diamond Rio ’s rich vocal harmonies
