The Red Cross “CPR Made Simple” course will be taught on Friday morning from 8 – 9 am at the American Red Cross Central Illinois Chapter located at 311 W. John H. The Akron-Princeville Fire Department will host the 1st Annual Chili Cook-Off to support MDA at the Firehouse located in Princeville.  Local fire departments will compete for the best chili honors.  Competition begins at 4:30 pm and dinner is from 5 – 8 pm.  Prices for food are:  $5 for a meal which includes a bowl of chili, corn bread, drink & desert or ala carte menu includes:  $1 for a bowl of chili, $1 for cornbread and $1 for hotdogs.  For more information, 309-634-1323.

The first annual Elmwood Outdoors Show will be held at the Elmwood High School & Grade School from 9 am – 5 pm on Saturday and 9 am – 4 pm on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and free for kids 13 and under. Parking is free and food & drink will be available. There will also be door prizes and raffles both days.

Peoria Cabaret Theatre at the Waterhouse presents its Late Night Cabaret Series on Saturday night. This week features Adam Sitton and the Confusicals, a popular series of musical theatre-based web videos. The doors for the Late Night Cabaret Series will open at 10 pm with the show at 11 pm. The TEAM Dance Illinois 2010 State Championship will be held in the Peoria Civic Center Arena on Sunday with doors opening at 7 am. The first performance will be at 7:45 am. Tickets are $12 for adults for ages 13 and over and $8 for children aged 6-12. Children 5 and under are free.

The Heart of Illinois Down Syndrome Association 21st Annual Spaghetti Dinner will be held Sunday from 11 am – 6 pm at the Itoo Hall on Farmington Road. Dinner will be provided by LaGondola Spaghetti House of Decatur.  Cost is $7 for adults ages 13 & up, $4 for children and under 3 years is free. There will also be entertainment, a raffle and a bake sale. Take out orders will be available also.
