A Hummingbird Festival will take place on  Saturday at Forest Park Nature Center from 9 am – Noon. Featuring Springfield’s Vernon Kleen, one of the few licensed hummingbird banders in the US, who will demonstrate banding and discuss the world of hummingbirds, you’ll have a chance to feel the heartbeat of a hummingbird and “adopt” one. The First Annual Morton Community Bank Cycling Classic will be held this weekend. After 23 years of holding the race in downtown Peoria, this will be the first year for the event in Morton.
