The Exhibition “K’NEX Building Thrill Rides” will take place through Sept. 1 at Lakeview Museum (located at 1125 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria) from 10 am – 5 pm Monday -Saturday (until 8 pm on Thursdays) and from Noon – 5 pm on Sunday. Use K’NEX rods and connectors to build a thrill ride of your own, which will help you understand the different properties of physics such as centrifugal force, kinetic energy, and motion. The last Cornerstone Festival will be held in Bushnell through July 7th with over 300 bands playing many styles of music, including rock, metal, punk, hardcore and pop music. The 2012 Princeville Heritage Days and 175th Anniversary of Princeville will be a family fun weekend filled with entertainment, food tent, carnival, parade and much more. The Peoria County Farm Bureau’s 100th Anniversary will be celebrated at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie from 10 am – 6 pm. Both new and antique tractor owners are encouraged to participate in the drive of 8 to 10 miles that leaves the center at 10 am and returns before Noon. After the drive, tractors and other farm equipment will be on display. There will be farm animals, inflatables for the kids, a pedal tractor course plus a garden tractor course. Pair Up for Health, a 3-mile trail race through Wildlife Prairie Park, will take place on Saturday beginning at 8 am plus a Kid’s Fun Run that begins at 9 am. The race incorporates obstacles such as small hurdles, rolling hills, barrel zig zag, military crawl, tires, stairs, a 4-foot wall and a 58-foot slide called the Gollywhopper.
