The Hummingbird Festival will be held at Forest Park Nature Center (located at 5809 Forest Park Drive in Peoria Heights) from 9 am – 12 pm on Saturday. Admission is free. Vernon Kleen from Springfield, one of the few licensed hummingbird banders in the US, will be on hand to demonstrate hummingbird banding and discuss the world of hummingbirds. Presley’s Outdoors will host their Kid’s Fishing Derby on Saturday at the Hooked on Fishing Park in East Peoria (located at 1807 North Main Street in East Peoria) with registration from 8 – 9 am and the derby from 9 – 11 am. Bowling for Rhinos will take place at at Landmark Bowling Center on Saturday with sign up beginning at 6 pm and bowling beginning at 6:30 pm.
