The 2017 48-hour Filmmaker Fest will take place at the Peoria Riverfront Museum Friday through Sunday. On Friday at 5 pm, this year’s theme will be announced along with a line of dialogue and an object that the film must include. Filmmakers will then have 48 hours to create a 3 – 5 minute film to submit. The top 25 films will be screened at the Giant Screen Theater on Saturday, October 28 at 6 pm where the winner, runner-up as well as a “people’s choice” winner will be announced. The 2018 City of Peoria Online Budget Challenge will feature public budget discussions with an overview of the budget and online tool as well as the opportunity to talk to department heads. The 2nd Annual Greehut Memorial Whiskey Baron Run will begin at the GAR Hall (416 Hamilton Blvd. in Peoria) on Saturday at 8 am.
